I am slowly but surely getting ready to share the Homestead Cottage with M. I have been organizing, rearranging, purging, and redesigning areas of the home to help make room for her so that she has lots of space to move into and doesn't feel like she's trying to squeeze in to an already full house. A few recent projects include a brand new cupboard & shelf unit in the bathroom which will be all hers, rearranging the office to become the new spare room so that her room will be all ready for her soon, and most recently a redo of the front hallway. Inspired by Pinterest, I have turned the front hall into a mini-mudroom style entrance way. It's not done yet, there are still baskets to be found but here is a sneak peak of what we did today.

For those of you who haven't started browsing Pinterest yet, I highly recommend it!
I am confident this new front hall will be much better for teenagers and I'm so glad I did it.
